Cut the line to length; add a nut and a ferrule to the end of the line then tighten the nut on the valve. More information may be included on the instructions that are included in the icemaker kit, so make sure to thoroughly read those first! Don't miss a post! Attach the free end of the copper tubing to the valve. See the installation instructions for more information. Wrap threads on the cold water valve with two or three wraps of thread-seal tape.
I removed the existing line from the refrigerator by unscrewing the brass nut holding the water line in the valve.
How to Install a Water Line for a Refrigerator
You name it, I can build it or fix it! A refrigerator with an automated ice maker and a built-in water dispenser does absolutely nothing if you do not have a water line to connect to it. Remember — after the nut is hand-tight, use the wrench or pliers to turn the nut a half turn! Be sure to put a gasket seal between the valve and the T-fitting. Now the refrigerator is connected.
